Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using EcoMatter ("the Service"), operated by EcoMatter Ltd ("we", "our", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of service
EcoMatter is a personal assistant for small business owners. The Service provides:
- Content generation (social media posts, blog articles, product descriptions, emails)
- Brand DNA extraction and management
- Product catalogue management and Shopify integration
- Ideas and notes management with scheduled actions
- Conversational assistant (Eco) with brand memory
3. Account registration
You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities under your account. You must provide accurate, complete information during registration.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Generate content that is harmful, abusive, discriminatory, or misleading
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or extract our AI models or algorithms
- Share your account with unauthorised users
- Exceed reasonable usage limits or attempt to overload the Service
- Scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Service
5. AI-generated content
Content generated by Eco is provided as a starting point. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and ensuring the accuracy and appropriateness of any content before publishing or distributing it. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of generated content.
You retain ownership of content you create using the Service, including content generated based on your inputs and brand data.
6. Third-party integrations
The Service integrates with third-party platforms (e.g. Shopify). Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third-party terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of third-party services.
When you connect a Shopify store, you authorise EcoMatter to access your store data as described during the connection process. You can revoke this access at any time from your settings or your Shopify admin.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, features, and underlying technology, is owned by EcoMatter Ltd. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service.
Brand data, product information, and content you upload remain your property. You grant us a limited licence to process this data solely to provide the Service.
8. Subscription & billing
Some features require a paid subscription. In-app purchases are handled through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Web subscriptions are handled through Stripe. Subscription terms, pricing, and refund policies are as described on our pricing page. We reserve the right to change pricing with reasonable notice.
9. Service availability
We aim to provide reliable service but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may perform maintenance, updates, or modifications that temporarily affect access. We will endeavour to provide notice of planned downtime.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, EcoMatter shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless EcoMatter from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may close your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will retain your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Scotland and the United Kingdom. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Scotland.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
